Solar Challenge Solar Challenge documents the experiences of a group of high school students as they design and build a solar-powered car and enter it in a race across Australia. The fact that they break down, and have to get taken across the finish line on a trailer adds to the reality, and shows how a disappointment can still be a triumph. It covers using group members' individual skills, getting sponsorship, overcoming problems, and making the best of difficult situations. It is useful background for a group of less able readers planning a project requiring funding and outside help.
